Victoria Police Licence
Licensing in Victoria
- All guards hold a current Security Industry Licence issued by Victoria Police.
- Licences are maintained under the Private Security Act 2004 (Vic) and current Victoria Police Private Security regulatory requirements.
- Category A (Crowd Controller), Category B (Security Officer), and Category D (Monitoring Centre Operator) licences held as applicable to each deployment.
- Licence verification is available to clients on request prior to any deployment.
- Our company licence is current and compliant with all Victoria Police Private Security requirements.
Pre-Employment Screening
Guard Vetting
- All security personnel complete a current National Police Check (NPC) before employment — renewed annually.
- Working With Children Check (WWCC) held where deployments may involve contact with minors.
- Identity verification conducted against government-issued documentation.
- Employment history verification and reference checks completed for all permanent staff.
- Applicants with relevant criminal history are not deployed regardless of licence status.
Competency Standards
Training Requirements
- All guards hold a Certificate II in Security Operations (CPP20218) or equivalent recognised qualification.
- First Aid certification (HLTAID011 or current equivalent) required for all operational staff.
- Site-specific induction completed for every new deployment — no guard begins a shift without site briefing.
- Annual refresher training on conflict de-escalation, access control procedures, and emergency response.
- Guards deployed to construction sites receive WHS site induction and safety briefing before first shift.
Insurance Verification
Insurance Coverage
- Public Liability Insurance: $20 million per occurrence. Certificate of currency available on request for your site files.
- Workers Compensation Insurance: Full coverage for all deployed personnel under Victorian WorkCover. Clients carry zero employer liability for guard injuries on their site.
- Professional Indemnity Insurance: Held and current.
- All insurance is renewed annually. Certificates are available to clients at contract signing and on request thereafter.
Workplace Health & Safety
WHS Alignment
- All operations are conducted in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Vic) and applicable regulations.
- Guards receive site-specific risk briefings before deployment to any new site.
- Incident reporting follows a structured protocol: immediate notification, written report within 24 hours, management review within 48 hours.
- Guards are trained to refuse unsafe deployment conditions and escalate to management — not pressure clients to accept unsafe situations.
- Regular WHS audits conducted across active deployments by our operations management team.
Documentation Standards
Reporting Procedures
- Shift Activity Report: Submitted digitally to your nominated contact before the start of the next business day. Covers patrol observations, access log, incidents, and equipment notes.
- Incident Report: Completed within 24 hours of any security event. Includes timeline, personnel involved, actions taken, and follow-up recommendations.
- Supervisor Site Visit Report: Written findings from each supervisor inspection, shared with your management team.
- GPS Patrol Data: Time-stamped checkpoint records available on request for insurance or compliance purposes.
- All records retained for a minimum of 7 years in accordance with records management best practice.
Oversight Model
Supervisor Structure
- Every active deployment has a named operations supervisor — not a rotating duty manager.
- Supervisors conduct unannounced site visits to verify guard performance and presentation.
- Any performance, conduct, or safety concern is escalated to the client within 2 hours with a documented response plan.
- Clients have direct access to their supervisor — not a call centre.
- Supervisor continuity is maintained where possible across the duration of an engagement.
